Baldwin Whitehall Youth Wrestling Association

BW Little Highlanders

For the 2019-2020 season BWYWA is offering an entry-level wrestling program for interested athletes that are 5 & 6 years old.  We have joined up with Mt. Lebanon Youth Wrestling to create this exciting introductory wrestling program.  The Little Highlander program is limited to one day a week for six weeks and will end with a tournament against Mt. Lebanon Youth Wrestling.  Your athlete will test their knowledge and skills against an opposing wrestler from Mt. Lebanon.

Who can be a wrestler?
All students (boys & girls) who are pre-K and/or Kindergarten and live within the Baldwin-Whitehall School District or any neighboring district.  Wrestling is a relatively safe contact sport and is excellent for children of all shapes and sizes; however, due its physical nature it may not be suitable for all children.

When and where are practices held?  Starting on Saturday November 2nd, practices will be held on Saturday morning from 10am to 11am in the high school wrestling room inside the Baldwin football stadium field house.

What equipment is needed?  All wrestlers, at minimum, will wear socks, shorts, and a t-shirt for practice.  Headgear (ear protection) and wrestling shoes are optional.

How much does it cost to participate?  The registration fee is $30 for the season which includes a team t-shirt.  You can sign up online by clicking the Registration Info tab at the top of the page.
