Baldwin Whitehall Youth Wrestling Association

HS Wrestling

Attention HS wrestlers

We will be starting practice on Monday November 18th. High school athletes must have a completed physical before participating in practice.

Baldwin Whitehall Youth Wrestling Association is the booster program for youth wrestling through High School in our district.  The fundraising we do provides the funds necessary to buy equipment and provide additional wrestling opportunities for all levels of wrestling throughout the district.

Who can be a wrestler?  All 9th through 12th grade students (boys & girls) who attend the Baldwin-Whitehall School District.  Wrestling is a relatively safe contact sport and is excellent for students of all shapes and sizes; however, due its physical nature it may not be suitable for everyone.

When and where are practices held?  Starting November 18th, practices will be held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday after school in the HS Wrestling room.  The High School team will have matches on Wednesdays.  The wrestling room is located beneath the stadium.  A more detailed schedule will be provided after the first week of practice.

What equipment is needed?  All wrestlers are required to wear wrestling shoes, shorts, and a t-shirt for practice.  Headgear (ear protection) and a singlet are required for matches.  A competition singlet will be provided by the School District.

High school students interested in wrestling should contact Coach Krall at [email protected]

*Anyone missing a non-optional practice should communicate a good reason for missing such as family obligations during the holidays for example.

**WPIAL championships and State Championships must be qualified for, but if one wrestler makes it, I expect the whole team to make practices and help that team mate succeed!
